Portrait of Isabella and John Stewart (ca. 1773-74) by the American artist Charles Wilson Peale launches a new activity offered exclusively to Friends which aims to introduce a work from the museum’s collection at regular intervals and in an accessible and meaningful way.

This is an on-site activity lasting around 45 minutes which will take place in front of the chosen painting and will reveal all its details in order to encourage and share thoughts, ideas and interpretations.

A specialist from the museum’s departments of Old Master and Modern paintings will be leading these sessions and structuring the dialogue between participants. Heading the first session will be Alba Campo Rosillo, Terra Foundation Fellow of American Art attached to the department of Modern Painting.
