Guided visit
- 17 December 2025
The last session of the year in the programme Focus on the work is devoted to Rogier van der Weyden, one of the most important Flemish artists of the 15 th century together with Jan van Eyck.
Dolores Delgado, curator of Old Master Painting at the museum, focuses on The Virgin and Child enthroned (ca. 1433) to exemplify the virtuosity of this Flemish master and reveal to Friends the complex iconographic programme he devised in the painting, with references to the Old and New Testaments such as King David with his harp, and scenes from the life of the Virgin, crowned as Queen of Heaven with the Christ Child in her arms.
