Saturday 21 April of 2007 saw the start of a new activity based around the exhibition The Mirror and the Mask. Portraiture in the Age of Picasso. It comprised a lecture series entitled Expression and Gaze and focused on the portrait in 20th-century art seen through the particular vision of four leading intellectuals: the psychiatrist Carlos Castilla de Pino, the photographer Joan Fontcuberta, the writer and journalist Vicente Verdú, and the neurologist Alberto Portera.
