As part of its commitment to offering alternative ways of experiencing its collections from an inclusive and diverse perspective, the Museo Thyssen is presenting the new LGBTIQ+ Thematic Route. Comprising 20 works, it is one of the activities developed with the UCM research group “Contemporary Aesthetics: Art, Politics and Society”. The presentation begins with an introduction by the museum’s director and the head of the Department of Philosophy and Society, followed by an explanation of the thematic route by its authors, Yera Moreno Sainz-Ezquerra and Luis Alegre Zahonero, professors in the Faculties of Fine Arts and Philosophy of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid.

Following the introduction, the authors will take part in a conversation with Nuria Sánchez Madrid (senior professor in the department of Philosophy and Society at the UCM and director of the GINEDIS research group), Aicha Josefa Trinidad Gououi (artist and researcher on queerness and diasporas and member of the Al'Akhawat collective), and Pablo Martínez (researcher and professor in the department of Art History of the Faculty of Geography and History at the UCM), moderated by Antonio Rivera García (professor in the Faculty of Philosophy at the UCM) and Nemesio García-Carril Puy (Ramón y Cajal researcher in the department of Philosophy and Society at the UCM). Members of the audience can participate in the conversation.
