The museum will be hosting the preview of Morlaix, the latest film by director Jaime Rosales (born Barcelona, 1970). It narrates the life of a group of final-year students at the secondary school in Morlaix, a small town in Brittany.

Following the showing Rosales will take part in the discussion “Film in art museums” alongside film critics Fernando Bernal, Luis Martínez and Fernando Lara. They will reflect on the diversity of spaces used to show films and their impact on the creative aesthetic, describing the changes that have taken place in the world of film and in exhibition venues. Art centres present retrospectives on both earlier and contemporary filmmakers, and there are some who, in addition to making films, produce museum works in other formats. The discussion will ask what characteristics a film has to have to be of museum interest and whether there is an overlapping interest between the cinema and the museum.
