Friends of the museum can enjoy a Short Break to Paris organised exclusively for them in mid-January. This activity offers three days to discover the French capital and visit exhibitions that include works loaned from the Thyssen collections. Two are at the Grand Palais: Toulouse-Lautrec, résolument moderne, which includes the loans of Gastón Bonnefoy (1891) and Redhead in a white Blouse (1889), and El Greco, which features The Annunciation (ca. 1576).

The trip is completed by a visit to the exhibition Bacon en toutes lettres at the Centre Georges Pompidou, which includes Portrait of George Dyer in a Mirror (1968) among its selected works. Finally and not to be missed (although not featuring any work from the Thyssen collections), one of this season’s most important exhibitions world-wide is the monographic event devoted to Leonardo da Vinci at the Louvre.
