The concert took place in the Museum Auditorium exclusive for the Friends and performed by Artaria Ensemble. The programme included works from musicians contemporary to Gauguin such as Ravel or Debussy together with musicians from the circle of Gauguin’s young friend William Molard and by the English composer Frederick Delius. The evolution of their style can be linked to the development of Post-impressionism, characterised as it is by compositions that deploy a radical harmonic palette of a type comparable to that transmitted by Gauguin through colour.
