Priority Access to Exclusive Activities

How does the annual subscription renewal work?
A few weeks before your annual subscription expires, you will receive a letter or email reminding you of the date of renewal so that you may continue as a Friend of the Museum.
If payment is by direct debit, renewal is automatic unless you instruct us otherwise and do not wish to renew. Your account will be debited automatically.
If you have paid in cash or by credit card, you should contact us to manage the renewal before the end of your membership period. If you would rather pay by direct debit and forget about this process each year, do not hesitate to write to us.
The card itself will remain the same and is automatically activated upon renewal. We are committed to sustainability and caring for the environment and therefore do not issue duplicate cards upon renewal.
How do tax deductions work?
We ask for your tax number simply to prepare a tax deduction certificate, which you will receive at some time from March onwards. Being a Friend of the Museum means you can deduct at least 80% of the donation from your personal income tax.
The income tax deduction is 80% of the donation for the initial €250 and 40% thereafter. If in the two previous tax periods you have made tax deductible donations or contributions to the Fundación Colección Thyssen-Bornemisza for an amount, in each, equal to or greater than that of the previous period, the deduction percentage for any amount exceeding €250 will be 45%. The tax base for the deduction may not exceed 10% of the taxpayer’s net taxable income.
After registering on our Friends Programme, you may request a document certifying your donation (albeit unnecessary) by sending an email to @email with details of your full name and ID document. This is not processed immediately and takes approximately 10 days.
What is the additional donation?
This is a financial contribution, on top of the Friend membership fee, with which you can increase your support for the Museum’s different programmes. You may make a donation or increase your annual contribution at any time.
All contributions received are assigned to the conservation and restoration of works in the museum, and to implementing a broad range of projects that bring culture to all kinds of audiences.
