Participating in the events taking place in October to celebrate the later stages of life, for the fourth time the Fundación Cultura en Vena is organising the study day and exhibition Art and Health at the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza. This initiative aims to generate a dialogue on the relationship between art and health in old age.
On 9 October, International Ageism Awareness Day, the cultural and healthcare sectors will be gathering at the museum to address various issues affecting older adults: healthy aging, ageism, neurodegenerative diseases, care networks and loneliness.
The project is completed with an exhibition in Room 30 of the museum, open from 26 September to 19 October. It features iconic works from the history of art that have been digitally modified to reflect on health in the later stages of life.
The original images in the exhibition Art and Health in Old Age have been kindly provided by the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza, the Museo Nacional del Prado and the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya.
