Guided tours of the permanent collection: The image of women in the Thyssen-Bornemisza Collection

To coincide with International Women's Day, the museum is organising guided tours that offer a comprehensive overview of the representation of the image of women throughout the history of art, from the Renaissance to the 20^th century. These tours highlight the transformations which that image has undergone in accordance with the cultural norms and contexts of each era. Virtue, ideal beauty, sensuality, emancipation, illness, the female self-portrait, woman as temptation, modern female artists and intellectuals, and muses are some of the concepts explored in the tour.
