MITECO

In 2022 the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza began calculating its carbon footprint in accordance with the international Greenhouse Gas Protocol (GHG) standard in scopes 1 (direct emissions from stationary and mobile combustion), 2 (indirect emissions from electricity consumption) and 3 (other indirect emissions).   

In 2023 it emitted 481.27 tons of CO2 divided between these scopes. During this year it also completed the registration with MITECO, which demonstrates the effort made to calculate the environmental footprint and has submitted a plan to reduce it.
