Every three months and with the change of season the museum organises a tour based on works in its collection which reflect the nature and light of the different seasons, continuing with a visit to the Royal Botanical Garden in Madrid.

Summer is extensively represented in the Thyssen-Bornemisza collection. Scenes of bathers and moments of leisure and relaxation reflect summer activities that have been repeated across the ages. Landscapes of intense blue skies, clear or barely covered with typical cumulus clouds recreate the summer atmosphere, which illuminates and brightens the galleries of the Thyssen collections.

The visit continues in the Royal Botanical Garden where an expert botanist discusses the plants and flowers typical of this season. Participants are inspired in the museum then smell and discover all the subtle and different aspects of the natural world in an outdoor setting.

Friends who prefer an online activity can sign up for the virtual tour through Second Canvas with a live guide. This app offers an unprecedented level of detail, allowing participants to discover the importance of this season in landscapes in the museum’s collection.
