The Fundación Gabeiras, in collaboration with the museum, is organising the 2nd Autumn Study Day on Cultural Law, which will focus on an assessment of the current funding model. The aim of the event is to promote the realisation of one of the most pressing issues in the cultural sector, namely the creation of a funding system for culture, as set out in the “List of Priorities” compiled at the conclusion of the 2022 session, which focused on an exploration of the sector’s most urgent requirements.

The 2023 study day will be divided into two principal blocks and is open to professionals in the morning and the general public in the afternoon.

In the first part, professionals from the culture sector will meet up for various working sessions in order to reflect on the possibilities for progressing towards new models of cultural funding that will complement the traditional model of government subsidies and contribute funding through more innovative methods. Impact investing, tax incentives, grants and subsidies, sponsorship, assessment of government policies on sustainability, and impact measurement are the principal themes to be discussed this year.

The second section, which is open to the public (prior booking required), benefits from the participation of leading figures in the fields of culture and law. The topics for discussion are the creation of an impact investment fund for culture, tax incentives, and assessment of government policies, and sustainability. CREAS, the Fundación Ortega Marañón, the Instituto Complutense de Ciencias Musicales, and Kubbo y Gabeiras y Asociados are collaborating with this section.
