In conjunction with the exhibition on Max Beckmann, the museum is holding a cycle of films on Saturdays in November and December. The programme includes a few German classics of the 1920s and 1930s, such as Walter Ruttmann’s Berlin. Symphony of a Great City (1927) and Joseph von Sternberg’s The Blue Angel (1930), as well as more recent films set in interwar Germany including Cabaret (1972) by Bob Fosse, and documentaries like Michael Trabitzsch’s Max Beckmann Departure (2013).

All the films will be screened with their original soundtrack and subtitles.
