Pierre Bonnard's portrait of Misia Godebska is the focus of the November issue of Focus on the work, an exclusive activity for Friends which offers a detailed explanation of the story behind a work in the collection.

Clara Marcellán, the museum’s curator of Modern Painting, will introduce participants to the French painter, lithographer and photographer Pierre Bonnard and to Misia, the most celebrated muse of early 20th-century Paris, admired by writers such as Proust, Zola, Mallarmé and Cocteau and by painters such as Renoir, Toulouse-Lautrec and Vuillard.
