Bramantino’s painting The Risen Christ (ca. 1490) is the subject of the March edition of the Friend’s programme Focus on the Work. This monthly activity looks in detail at a major work in the museum’s collections, led by one of our experts and taking place in front of the painting in the gallery where it is displayed.

On this occasion María Eugenia Alonso, curator of Old Master painting, will discuss one of the most enigmatic religious paintings in the museum in order to explain the different ideas on its meaning and to learn more about its creator, a multi-faceted artist who in addition to practising painting and architecture was also a leading theoretician of perspective.
