The Museum Thyssen was welcoming in the spring with a fusion of two great art forms: music and painting. Every Saturday in May of 2010 visitors could enjoy the exhibition Monet and Abstraction to the rhythm of jazz. On 15 and 22 May there was ambient music in the rooms from 7pm to 11pm, with live concerts on 8 and 29 May.

The ambient music that relayed into the galleries is Portrait in Seven Shades by the saxophonist and composer Ted Nash with the Jazz at the Lincoln Center Orchestra (2010), and Free Jazz (1960) by the saxophonist Ornette Coleman. In addition, the De Federico de Linos Quintet was playing live at the entrance to the exhibition at 9pm and 10pm.
