The Madrid Realists will be introduced to participants in a monographic course taking place from March to May and organised within the context of the collaborative agreements that exist between the Museum and the Carlos III, Complutense and Autónoma universities of Madrid.

A total of eight lectures will focus on both general aspects of the realist style shared by all the artists represented in the exhibition, as well as the elements that differentiate and define them individually. The course will benefit from lectures by the writer Gustavo Martín Garzo, the film director Carlos Heredero, university professors such as José María Parreña (Universidad Complutense) and María de los Santos García Felguera (Universidad Pompeu Fabra), and finally the artists themselves, namely Antonio López, Isabel Quintanilla, Francisco López and Julio López, who will take part in a round table-colloquium with the Museum’s Artistic Director Guillermo Solana.

From 30 March to 18 May 2016.
