A Valencian dancer based in Madrid for over twenty years, Raquel Valencia began her dance training at the age of four and furthered her expertise at institutions such as the Valencia Professional Dance Conservatory and the Carmen López School, as well as with leading flamenco masters.
Since 1998 she has developed her career as a performer and teacher, appearing in companies, at specialist venues, and on national and international stages. Raquel Valencia has been a soloist with the Antonio Gades Company since 2019 and the artistic director of the Cafetín La Quimera flamenco venue. She has collaborated closely with the Tribueñe Company and with playwright Hugo Pérez de la Pica. In 2023 she was appointed a member of the International Dance Council by the United Nations of Arts and Sciences, in recognition of her artistic career and commitment to dance.
