In conjunction with the exhibition Chechu Álava. Rebels the museum is organising a talk and discussion with the Asturian-born artist and the curator, Rocío de la Villa.

The conversation will centre on the works in the exhibition; a gallery of female portraits that celebrates the imaginary life of ancient myths and the experience of eminent women in the modern age. It will also look at issues associated with the artist’s work and with the Koraexhibition series to which this project belongs.

Rebels is the third edition of this programme. Taking its starting point from the myth of the first woman to produce a portrait, as recounted by Pliny the Elder, it presents one exhibition a year at the museum from a gender perspective.
