#VersionaThyssen XXVII
Once again, we invite young artists and creators from around the world to let their imaginations run wild and reinterpret some of the works in the museum’s collection through their own unique lens.
For this edition, we have three guest artists: Isa Muguruza, Cristina Daura, and Mariano Pascual, who are also taking on the challenge of reimagining the Thyssen through their own creative worlds.
If you’re between 16 and 35 years old, this challenge is for you. Enter via Instagram and surprise us with your way of seeing, creating, and reinterpreting art.
And on Friday, October 16, we’ll come together to celebrate the talent and creativity of all participants at the awards ceremony, which will bring the challenge to a close. And to celebrate in style, we’ll also enjoy a concert by Salma.

Works to version
Choose one of these works of our permanent collection. You can participate with one or more versions
Requirements for participation
- Creators between the ages of 16 and 35, from anywhere in the world, can participate. If you are a minor, you must send us an authorisation to a versiona@museothyssen.org.
- Post your version from a public Instagram account including hashtags #VersionaThyssen27 and #VersionaThyssen, mention to a @museothyssen, and the title of your work and of the original painting.
- You can participate with more than one version.
- The work must be published between 14 September and 4 October 2026.
- If you would like your work to be exhibited at the museum on the day of the competition presentation, please send it to us.
Up to €1,000 in prizes
- 3 first prizes of €1.000
- 3 second prizes of €500
- Advantages in the museum.
Awards ceremony on 16 October at 21.00
Walked through the rooms of the collection in semi-darkness and discovered a selection of versions projected next to the original paintings.
Plus, to wrap up the celebration, we’ll have a concert by Salma!
