This new course, organised in collaboration with Visit Flanders, analyses the life and oeuvre of painters active from the 15^th to the 17^th centuries in Flanders, one of the most prosperous regions of the time, focusing on works expressly conceived for the places where they are still to be seen today.

In collaboration with the LOEWE FOUNDATION, the museum is offering a series of guided tours of the LOEWE FOUNDATION Craft Prize 2025 exhibition – a showcase of this international award created by the house to celebrate artistic excellence, innovation, and the creative value of contemporary craft. 

Through our guided tours on weekends and public holidays you can learn in detail about the life and work of the artists, their influences and motivations, and why they became icons of art.

On weekends from March to June the Museo Thyssen is offering guided tours of Proust and the Arts, an exhibition that focuses on the importance of art in the work of one of the most influential writers of the 20^th century, recognised in the fields of literature, philosophy and art theory.

The museum presents Foragers, a film by Palestinian artist Jumana Manna (1987) that depicts the dramas around the practice of foraging for wild edible plants in Palestine/Israel with wry humor and a meditative pace.

Every year the Focus on the Collection programme offers Friends a guided tour of the Permanent Collection with the aim of offering detailed explanations of its contents. On this occasion the activity focuses on life at home as represented in paintings in the collection and invites participants to discover the way in which the spaces we call home have shaped our lives over the course of history.

Young Friends can enjoy a guided tour of the permanent collection which explores the link between two disciplines that are equally characterised by curiosity, observation and a desire to understand the world: art and science.

A celebration of reading in the form of a gathering of readers, all simultaneously immersed in any of the author’s books.

The museum and CaixaForum+ begin a new collaboration, thanks to which two documentary series will premiere on the platform in May: Return to Nature and Love Letters to the Cities

Coinciding with the exhibition Proust and the Arts, the museum is organising a lecture series that aims to delve into some of the most important aspects of the novel In Search of Lost Time (1913-1927) in terms of its relationship with the arts (painting, literature, music and theatre).

The multidisciplinary artist Hugáceo Crujiente is returning to the museum with a renewed edition of his Crujiente guided tour.

Evelio Acedo, the museum's managing director, is the protagonist of the latest edition in the series The Thyssen seen by..., an activity which aims to bring the museum closer to Young Friends from the viewpoint of people who work in it or are connected with it. 

Following the success of previous editions, the artist and member of the LabThyssen expert panel Maya Pixelskaya is returning to the museum to lead her guided tour of a selection of works from the permanent collection.

The museum organizes a series of conversations to pay tribute to the collectors who ensure the continuing renewal of contemporary art and its system. 

The fourth edition of Vision and Presence features ten performative actions over the course of the year which have been expressly created to be seen in the museum.

TBA21–Academy and Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza present Organismo | Art in Applied Critical Ecologies, an experimental independent study program connecting research, theory, and speculation through a series of focused case studies—regenerative interventions that explore different forms of alliance. 

The tenth edition of the Short Break programme has programmed a visit this June to Provence (France), a place where art, history and beauty come together.

Art and wine go hand in hand in a unique experience that joins the Thyssen with the symbolic Mercado de San Miguel. An interesting way to explore gastronomic culture and art.

With this virtual guided tour you can travel through seven centuries of art history through fifteen masterpieces and delve deeper into our collection. Narrated by our curators, discover the little stories hidden in the paintings at any time and pause the guided tour whenever you want.

Take a closer look at the works in the collection from the point of view of the museum's restorers and you will learn about the treatments carried out on the paintings as well as some of the secrets and curiosities hidden in a selection of our Masterpieces.

Every three months and with the change of season the museum organises a tour based on works in its collection which reflect the nature and light of the different seasons, continuing with a visit to the Royal Botanical Garden in Madrid.

Friends will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition of works by Andy Warhol and Jackson Pollock, two key 20th century artists.

Once again this season, we are offering tours of the museum and the Royal Botanical Garden which focus on the different seasons of the year. In this new edition the protagonists are autumn’s red and golden tones.

Friends can thus enjoy the chance to attend some of the concerts organised by the School, both at its headquarters and at the Auditorio Nacional.
