The Cranach Digital Archive (cda) is an interdisciplinary collaborative research resource, providing access to art historical, technical and conservation information on paintings by Lucas Cranach (c.1472 - 1553), his sons and his workshop. The repository presently provides information on more than 1,400 paintings including c. 13,000 images and 850 pdf documents from 193 contributing institutions as well as 345 digitized and transcribed archival documents and more than 3,000 literature references. The Cranach Digital Archive is a joint initiative of the Stiftung Museum Kunstpalast, Düsseldorf and Cologne Institute of Conservation Sciences / Cologne University of Applied Sciences in collaboration with nine founding partners institutins, 19 associate partners and many project contributors. The project is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.

The Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza collaborates by providing documentation on seven works by Lucas Cranach the Elder, one by Lucas Cranach the Younger and two by Hans Cranach.
