The Magritte Machine by Overture
Overture offers its interpretation of the Surrealist atmosphere which characterises the work of René Magritte, locating it in the field of avant-garde electronic music. Each of the exhibition’s seven sections has its own sound piece. This immersive experience of painting through listening aims to offer visitors to the exhibition an acoustic accompaniment in the form of a new and alternative type of audio guide.
Overture is the field of research comprising the poetic universe of Sara Martín and the avant-garde electronic one of José Pablo Polo. This multi-disciplinary project combines performance and sound art in a perfect conjunction which OVERTURE terms “live sound art”, in other words Sara’s texts expressed through her voice and body and Polo’s evocative world of sound.
