The fifth edition of the performance cycle by women artists, Vision and presence, is presenting ten new performances devised by Spanish and international artists to be staged in different spaces around the museum. This series, which allows the performers to bring social issues to the fore, addresses themes such as feminism, the invisibility of women throughout history, colonialism, traditions, the bonds between women, historical memory, and armed conflicts.

For 2026 the cycle will feature performers from Spain, Italy and Peru. In addition, and thanks to the collaboration of the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID), further participants have been invited by the Spanish Cultural Centres in Equatorial Guinea and Guatemala. The agreement signed last year with the Centro Atlántico de Arte Moderno (CAAM) in Gran Canaria once again allows for the participation of female creators from the Canary Islands. Furthermore, the LABoral Centro de Arte y Creación Industrial in Gijón is joining as a new collaborator this year, facilitating the participation of two artists from Asturias.
