Openings Times

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collections are open Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00 to 19.00; on Mondays from 12.00 to 16.00 free visit & access -thanks to the generous sponsorship by MasterCard-.

The Museum is closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December.

Please note that the galleries will be emptied five minutes before closing time.

Notices and special openings:

  • Cézanne site / non-site exhibition is also open on Mondays from 10.00 to 19.00 (with the usual visit conditions) as well as Fridays and Saturdays with late opening until 21.00. It is open Mondays to Sundays from 10.00 to 19.00, on Fridays and Saturdays late opening from 10.00 to 21.00.
  • Darío de Regoyos exhibition has late opening on Saturdays until 21.00. It is open from Tuesday to Sundays from 10.00 to 19.00, on Saturdays late opening from 10.00 to 21.00.
  • Free entry for media professionals to temporary exhibitions (with proof of status) is only from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 13.30 to 17.30 and on Sundays, 14.00 to 18.00. However on Mondays entry is allowed during normal exhibition hours from 10.00 to 19.00.
  • Group visits to the permanent collections are available between 10.00 and 18.00 on Tuesdays – Saturdays.

  • Free entry to the Permanent Collections on Mondays between 12.00 and 16.00 thanks to sponsorship by MasterCard.
Individual reduced and free tickets purchased on-line must be collected in the Museum ticket-office set up for this purpose, the same day of the visit. Status proof must be accredited with valid documentation required in each case (check the requirements for reduced and free tickets). Please take into account this step in order to arrive with time enough at the access control when your visit is booked.

Paseo del Arte Card
This card includes one visit to the Prado National Museum, the Reina Sofia National Museum and Arts Centre and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. It is valid for one year from the date of emission. In the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum it is only valid for the Permanent Collections. General price: Sold at the ticket office €25.60. On-line €26.60 . The Card amounts to a discount of 20% of the ticket prices of the three museums featured. More information here

Madrid Card
Includes the visit to the Museum Permanent Collections with priority Access. You may purchase the card at the Museum ticket offices as well as at other points of sale. Valid for one visit and it does not include access to the temporary exhibitions at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

    • Advanced ticket purchase Cézanne
    • We recommend that you buy your tickets in advance online, by phone or at the Museum’s ticket desks. In order to limit visitor numbers and to ensure that you see the works in comfort, entry is by timed slot every 15 minutes. Please remember that the last entry slot is at 18.00, or one hour before closing on Saturdays.
