Openings Times

The Thyssen-Bornemisza Collections are open Mondays from 12.00 to 16.00 -Thanks to the generous sponsorship by MasterCard- and Tuesdays to Sundays from 10.00 to 19.00.

The temporary exhibitions have extended opening times on Saturdays until 21.00

Please note that the galleries will be emptied five minutes before closing time.

Notices and Special Opening Times:

  • Free entry for media professionals (with proof of status) is only from Tuesdays to Saturdays, 13.30 to 17.30 and on Sundays, 14.00 to 18.00.
The Museum is closed on 1 January, 1 May and 25 December. On 24 and 31 December the Museum will be open from 10.00 to 15.00.

Free:
  • Children under twelve years of age accompanied by adults.
  • Citizens who are officially unemployed.
  • Free entry to the Permanent Collections on Mondays between 12.00 and 16.00 thanks to sponsorship by MasterCard.
Individual reduced and free tickets purchased on-line must be collected in the Museum ticket-office set up for this purpose, the same day of the visit. Status proof must be accredited with valid documentation required in each case (check the requirements for reduced and free tickets). Please take into account this step in order to arrive with time enough at the access control when your visit is booked.

Paseo del Arte Card
This card allows individual access to the Prado National Museum, the Reina Sofia National Museum and Arts Centre and the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum. You may purchase the membership card at the ticket offices of any of the three museums. It is valid for one visit to each museum. It does not include access to the temporary exhibitions at the Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum.

Includes the visit to the Museum Permanent Collections with priority Access. You may purchase the card at the Museum ticket offices as well as at other points of sale.
