We are back! Surprise us and surprise yourself with your creativity. We are inviting young creators and creatives from all over the world to reinterpret works from the collection to compete for new prizes. If you are between 16 and 35 years old, participate on Instagram in this competition that has no limitations in terms of artistic discipline or theme.

In this edition, Inés Jimm (@inesjimm), Julieta Wibel (@jwibel) and Jack McVeigh (@Jackmcv.art) are the invited artists and members of the jury.

Requirements for participation

  • Creators between the ages of 16 and 35, from anywhere in the world, can participate. If you are a minor, you must send us an authorisation to a versiona@museothyssen.org.
  • Post your version from a public Instagram account including hashtags #VersionaThyssen19 and #VersionaThyssen, mention to a @museothyssen, and the title of your work and of the original painting.
  • You can participate with more than one version.
  • The work must be published between 5 April and 5 May 2024.
  • If you would like your work to be exhibited at the museum on the day of the competition presentation, please send it to us.

Contest rules    Authorization for under-age participants

Up to €1,000 in prizes

  • 6 prizes of between €500 and €1.000 and advantages in the museum.
  • Prior Art Space special prize for an artistic residency lasting 1 to 3 months, with all expenses covered.

Awards ceremony on 18 May at 21.00

Walk through the rooms of the collection in semi-darkness and discover a selection of the versions of this edition, projected next to the original paintings. The artist and performer Julieta Wibel will be in charge of announcing the winning works.

To close the ceremony, we will have the concert of Soleá Morente
