Do kids get free entry to the museum?
Visitors under the age of 18 are eligible for free admission provided they are not visiting as part of a school trip (in which case they are entitled to the reduced student rate). Tickets must be purchased at the ticket office or online.
Do kids need a ticket, even if it’s free?
Yes, kids must have a ticket, even when admission is free. Only babies may enter without a ticket.
Is there a discount for large families?
Yes, admission is free for a family group comprising at least one adult and three kids (or two kids, if one has a disability or if one of the parents in the family group has passed away), provided they are all listed on the same large family certificate, their tickets are purchased in a single transaction, and they visit at the same time.
If the visit is made by an adult from a large family, they may benefit from the reduced rate.
Can I take food or drink into the rooms?
To ensure the preservation of the artworks, you are not permitted to bring food or drink into the galleries. If necessary, our security staff will be able to assess your situation.
The Collection is open from 10.00 to 18.55, and you may leave and re-enter on the same day by showing your ticket.
Is it possible to bring a pushchair?
Yes. The museum has accessible entrances, lifts, ramps, accessible toilets and accessible counters to ensure a comfortable visit for visitors with pushchairs.
Can I borrow a pushchair at the museum?
Yes. We have free pushchairs available at the cloakroom.
What activities does the museum offer for families?
At weekends, you can enjoy activities specially designed for family visits to the museum.
Are there baby changing facilities or breastfeeding rooms?
Yes. On level -1, you’ll find a quiet family area equipped with a nursing chair and a nappy-changing table.
Is there an audioguide for kids or families?
Yes. The audioguide includes content suitable for families. It can be hired when you buy your ticket online, at the ticket office or at the audio guide desk.
