Art and wine go hand in hand in a unique experience that joins the Thyssen with the symbolic Mercado de San Miguel. An interesting way to explore gastronomic culture and art.

Take a closer look at the works in the collection from the point of view of the museum's restorers and you will learn about the treatments carried out on the paintings as well as some of the secrets and curiosities hidden in a selection of our Masterpieces.

With this virtual guided tour you can travel through seven centuries of art history through fifteen masterpieces and delve deeper into our collection. Narrated by our curators, discover the little stories hidden in the paintings at any time and pause the guided tour whenever you want.

Pierre Bonnard's portrait of Misia Godebska is the focus of the November issue of Focus on the work, an exclusive activity for Friends which offers a detailed explanation of the story behind a work in the collection. 

As part of the exhibition Listening All Night to the Rain by John Akomfrah, the film MASCON - A Massive Concentration of Black Experimental Energy (2024) is presented at the museum. The work is produced by The Otolith Group, a collective formed by Anjalika Sagar and Kodwo Eshun, whose practice combines film, theory and critical inquiry to expore history and memory.
