With this virtual guided tour you can travel through seven centuries of art history through fifteen masterpieces and delve deeper into our collection. Narrated by our curators, discover the little stories hidden in the paintings at any time and pause the guided tour whenever you want.

Take a closer look at the works in the collection from the point of view of the museum's restorers and you will learn about the treatments carried out on the paintings as well as some of the secrets and curiosities hidden in a selection of our Masterpieces.

You have the opportunity to explore, along with one of our experts, the greatest masters’ canvases, with an exclusive tour that let you discover all the secrets, anecdotes and curiosities of some of the most iconic paintings in the History of Art.

Friends have the chance to enjoy a preview of the exhibition devoted to the Danish artist Vilhem Hammershøi the day before it opens, as well as to participate in private guided tours with the option of different formats, dates and times.

On Saturdays and Sundays from February to May 2026 the museum will be offering guided tours of the exhibition Hammershøi. The eye that listens, the first retrospective in Spain to be devoted to the Danish artist Vilhelm Hammershøi (1864-1916).

Friends of the museum have the opportunity to enjoy some of the concerts organised by the Escuela Superior de Música Reina Sofía [Reina Sofía School of Music], thanks to an agreement signed in 2019 and renewed annually.

To coincide with the exhibition, the museum is organising a series of lectures focusing on the Danish painter Vilhelm Hammershøi.

We invite creators from all over the world to reinterpret works from the collection for a chance to win new prizes. For the first time, and to celebrate the XXV edition of Versiona Thyssen, we are removing the age limit: anyone aged 16 and over can take part on Instagram in this competition, which has no restrictions on artistic discipline or theme. 

The museum is organising a new edition of Travelling with the painting, in which Friends have the opportunity to follow in the work’s footsteps and enjoy private and exclusive visits during a five-day trip.

Entangled worlds is an original guided tour that brings together art and science through quantum physics. This is an informal scientific talk, illustrated with masterpieces from the museum's permanent collection which help us to understand complex and extremely beautiful scientific concepts.

This workshop invites visitors to actively engage with the exhibition Pedagogies of War by collaboratively rewriting the texts and labels accompanying the artworks.

Through a route around the museum and making use of sound, touch and smell, the artist moves from artifice to a body covered in scales, inverting the Western gaze through Amazonian drag.

This session offers an analysis of works created for a cultured clientele that demanded civic portraits, domestic scenes, landscapes, cityscapes and seascapes. The museum's exceptional collection of 17^th-century Dutch painting allows for a detailed examination of this fruitful artistic period.
