With this virtual guided tour you can travel through seven centuries of art history through fifteen masterpieces and delve deeper into our collection. Narrated by our curators, discover the little stories hidden in the paintings at any time and pause the guided tour whenever you want.

Take a closer look at the works in the collection from the point of view of the museum's restorers and you will learn about the treatments carried out on the paintings as well as some of the secrets and curiosities hidden in a selection of our Masterpieces.

In this year’s second edition of Travelling with the painting Friends can visit The Hague in conjunction with the simultaneous exchange of twenty-five works between the Museo Thyssen and the Mauritshuis.

Once again, we invite young artists and creators from around the world to let their imaginations run wild and reinterpret some of the works in the museum’s collection through their own unique lens.

What if chaos had nothing to do with disorder but rather with sensibility? In fact, in science the concept of chaos has nothing to do with disorder. This tour aims to introduce participants to science in an original and simple manner, using masterpieces from the museum's permanent collection to help us understand the notion of chaos.

What makes something kitsch? Young Friends tour the permanent collection with Helio Roque, who will be inviting them to explore the excessive, the sentimental, the artificial, and everything else that often seems so appealing, precisely because it deviates from the canons of "good taste". 

The museum has devised an online guided tour for Friends of In the shadow of Gaudí. The architect's essential collaborators, in partnership with the Friends of the National Art Museum of Catalonia (MNAC). 

The artist Seba Calfuqueo uses her body and clothing to narrate in a performance her personal relationship with the Cautín River and her sense of belonging to the territory. 

In this new edition of A different Thyssen, Young Friends can visit the place where artworks by Belin, one of Spain’s most internationally renowned urban artists, come to life. 

Entangled worlds is an original guided tour that brings together art and science through quantum physics. This is an informal scientific talk, illustrated with masterpieces from the museum's permanent collection which help us to understand complex and extremely beautiful scientific concepts.

Soprano Núria Rial, accompanied by Carles Blanch on the baroque guitar and lute and Olegue Aymamí on the baroque cello, will be offering a journey through songs and dances to be heard at the courts of Madrid and The Hague in the 16th- and 17th-century.

In a new edition of “A different Thyssen”, photographer Rocío Aguirre will be inviting Young Friends to discover cyanotype, an alternative photographic technique recognisable by its characteristic blue tones. 

The musical collective huaicoral presents Echoes of the River, a sound-making workshop and collective reflection in which huaicoral invites us to explore, through listening, storytelling, instrument-making and musical improvisation, the relationships that run through the river and political territory of the Cautín and the different worldviews that defend it against extractivist ambitions. 

In this edition of A Different Thyssen, the Sustrato community, which brings together artists, writers and readers around contemporary creative practice, invites Young Friends to discover its project and meet some of the people behind it. 

The museum is offering visitors the chance to discover Dalí’s Freudian Universe with guided tours on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays during normal opening hours.

This performance tells the intimate and powerful story of how grandmothers helped bring generations into the world without doctors, nurses or hospitals, using only the resources of nature and their ancestral knowledge. 

Artists found new spaces and themes for their compositions in nature, exoticism and mystery, but also in folk art, the charm of the everyday and the sublime beauty of transience.

LabThyssen once again dedicates one of its Another Thyssen sessions to mental health, creating a space for young people to meet, talk and reflect on emotional well-being through art and the works in the Museum’s collection.

Through an immersive audio-walk and a voice performance, Memories of Water invites you to explore the connections between body, water, memory, and territory in a participatory ritual. 

To coincide with the 61st International Exhibition of the Venice Biennale, there is a new destination in the “Short break” programme, which will offer Friends the chance to explore the artistic and cultural landscape of this Italian city.
