Within the programme Thinking about Museums, making memories, the third round table in the series will be taking place, entitled Democratising museums: disputed memories and histories.

We are inviting young creators and creatives from all over the world to reinterpret works from the collection to compete for new prizes. If you are between 16 and 35 years old, participate on Instagram in this competition that has no limitations of artistic discipline or theme.

Through our guided tours on weekends and public holidays you can learn in detail about the life and work of the artists, their influences and motivations, and why they became icons of art.

Participating in the events taking place in October to celebrate the later stages of life, for the fourth time the Fundación Cultura en Vena is organising the study day and exhibition Art and Health.

What do we feel when we look at a work of art? Although the experience of art is deeply subjective, our reactions can be measured and analysed. Discover this research project that unites art, technology and health.

The ESTAMPA fair is celebrating its 33^rd edition at IFEMA Madrid. Friends of the museum have the chance to enjoy a guided tour of the displays of contemporary art shown this year by various Spanish galleries, including Blanca Berlín, Max Estrella, and Moisés Pérez de Albéniz. 

The museum is participating in the thirteenth edition of Madrid Otra Mirada, an initiative of the Department of Cultural Heritage and Urban Landscape of the Madrid City Council, which on this occasion is associated with the 25^th anniversary of the European Landscape Convention.

Walk through the rooms of the collection in semi-darkness and discover a selection of the versions of this edition, projected next to the original paintings. To close the ceremony, we’ll be joined by a concert from Ghouljaboy!

The fourth edition of Vision and Presence features ten performative actions over the course of the year which have been expressly created to be seen in the museum.

Young Friends have the opportunity to discover the collection through an original and appealing guided tour led by members of the LabThyssen panel of experts.

This October’s edition of “Focus on the work” offers Friends the opportunity to discover François Boucher’s painting La toilette (1742) in detail, introduced and explained by María Eugenia Alonso, the museum’s the curator of Old Master Painting. 

The Museo Thyssen is presenting an exhibition that brings together fifty masterpieces by Pablo Picasso and Paul Klee which belonged to the German art dealer and collector Heinz Berggruen. 

Take a closer look at the works in the collection from the point of view of the museum's restorers and you will learn about the treatments carried out on the paintings as well as some of the secrets and curiosities hidden in a selection of our Masterpieces.

With this virtual guided tour you can travel through seven centuries of art history through fifteen masterpieces and delve deeper into our collection. Narrated by our curators, discover the little stories hidden in the paintings at any time and pause the guided tour whenever you want.

The museum organizes a series of conversations to pay tribute to the collectors who ensure the continuing renewal of contemporary art and its system. 

Pierre Bonnard's portrait of Misia Godebska is the focus of the November issue of Focus on the work, an exclusive activity for Friends which offers a detailed explanation of the story behind a work in the collection. 

Friends will have the opportunity to visit the exhibition with a guest on the day before it opens to the public and can also join the in-person or online guided tours offered with a range of dates and times while the exhibition is on display.

Once again this season, we are offering tours of the museum and the Royal Botanical Garden which focus on the different seasons of the year. In this new edition the protagonists are autumn’s red and golden tones.

In this edition of Traveling with the painting, the Friends have the opportunity to travel to Florence and follow in the footsteps of Fra Angelico's The Virgin of Humility, which the museum has temporarily loaned for inclusion in the exhibition on that Renaissance master scheduled this autumn by the Palazzo Strozzi.

The 10th edition of the “Short break” programme will be taking Friends to Turin in order to visit Artissima, one of Italy’s most important contemporary art fairs.

Art and wine go hand in hand in a unique experience that joins the Thyssen with the symbolic Mercado de San Miguel. An interesting way to explore gastronomic culture and art.

The latest edition of The Thyssen on the street is offering Friends of the museum the opportunity to enjoy a private guided tour of the exhibition devoted to Raimundo de Madrazo taking place at Fundación MAPFRE.

Following the success of previous editions, the artist and member of the LabThyssen expert panel Maya Pixelskaya is returning to the museum to lead her guided tour of a selection of works from the permanent collection.
